Event Spotlight: Markor Art Center Grand Unveiling.

This April, the High Point Market in High Point, North Carolina had a great reason to celebrate. Case goods and upholstery manufacturer, Markor, opened its new show room, The Markor Art Center in time for the Market Week industry trade show.

AVEX partnered with the Alderman Company Production Group for the grand opening tent event. We were looking for the perfect way to showcase the beautiful Makor Art Center building at its best for this night time event.

The private unveiling ceremony was held in an adjacent clear roofed tent to showcase the stunning architecture of the building. AVEX lit the facade of the building with our Chroma Q Color Force 72” LED Striplights. The white walls of the building took color very well and made for a spectacular entrance to the party.

Inside the tent we used a 12’x21’ section of our video wall flanked by sections of up lit mesh for texture. Video walls are an ideal solution for tent events as thier bright output reduces concerns about light pollution and their relatively small foot print saves room vs a traditional projection screen. In this application the LED screen served as a dynamic video source for presentation material as well as a fully customize-able scenic background for the musical performances later in the evening.

In the schedule for the unveiling event was a special performance by the building designer, Richarg Feng. Our robotic PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) camera captured the designer as he drew a sketch of the building while Markor’s President of International Affairs and International Business Division, Mark Feng accompanied with an improvised composition on piano. All of this was displayed onto the video wall so all 300 guests could see the details as they unfolded.

We worked closely with famed Violinist Lindsey Stirling’s team to provide appropriate audio, video and lighting equipment. A truly dynamic and entertaining artist, Lindsey wowed the crowd with her talent, while the LED screens displayed custom content provided by her team. Dynamic lighting effects added excitement to the stage while our DVA T8 Line Array audio system covered the entire tent, from front to back, with pleasant, even, and crystal-clear sound.
